Who's Elsa? [Modern Reader X Anna]

"[Y/N] you have a visitor," says your nurse Debra. Or maybe it was Debbie. You're not too sure. Your memory has been fading lately.

"Okay, you can let them in," you reply with a weary tone. Debra opens the door and a familiar turquoise blue eyed face appears.

"Hey [Y/N], it's me Anna," says a slightly cheery voice. The name instantly brings a smile to your wrinkly face.

"Well, I'll be heading off," says Debra "If you need me, just call." And with that Debra walks out.

"Thanks Tiffany," calls out Anna.

"I thought that was Debra," you mumble. Anna turns to you.

"It's Tiffany," replies Anna. She looks at you and notices how your eyes look lost and have barely any life in them. She hides her frown with a smile.

You look at her. She knows that you know it's fake. You've always known. But you both pretend it's not fake. You pretend that everything is okay. That you're not slowly fading away.

"I knew that," you lie faking a chuckle "I'm just messing with you, Anna." Your dull eyes soon have a spark in them.

She looks at you giving you a genuine smile. It's barely noticeable, but it's there and for now that's good enough.

"Who's Elsa?" you ask her. That name gives you the same feeling the sight of snow does. Happiness, anger, sadness and betrayal.

"No one. Don't worry about her," she replies as she takes out a photo album. Anna usually brings a photo album whenever she visits. So you have some form of comfort.

You smile at her. Soon the two of you talk and she tells you of the things that you two would do. You both laugh and joke around like you did before.

But soon it was time for her to go. As Anna packs up she grabs the album.

You look at her. "Can you leave it just this once?" you ask her in a pleading tone. She looks at you. You always ask her if she can leave it. She never does. "Please Anna. Grant me my dying wish," you continue pleading. This catches her off guard and she let's the album go. She nods at you and then leaves.

Once Anna is out the door, you open the album. As you look at the pictures, you notice one sticking out behind one. As you pull out the picture from the slot you look at it. It's old looking and creased at the corners. You notice it looks worn out and it's wrinkled as if it's been wet. You look at it and it's a picture of you kissing some blue eyed woman on the cheek. It looks like you from ages ago.

You don't notice your cheeks are wet. You just keep looking at the picture feeling a mix of emotions. The name Elsa keeps running throughout you mind as you look at the blue eyed woman in the picture.

Elsa. Elsa. Elsa. Elsa. Elsa. Elsa. Elsa. Elsa.

You turn the picture over. On the back is written Newlyweds [Y/N] and Elsa.
