Coming Back [Elsa X Reader]

The young monarch, seated in her office, continues to go through the paperwork she’s been given; it’s more than usual since she has to do your paperwork as well. She pauses, remembering how you left to go deal with some affairs in Weselton. Elsa’s grip on her quill tightens as thoughts of you not returning fill her mind.

“It’ll only be for two months,” you tell her, soft [E/C] eyes looking into her tear filled ones.

“I just really want you to come back,” she croaks out, remembering when her parents left.

“Elsa, I swear to you that I will come back,” you say, placing a hand on her cheek and letting your thumb wipe away a tear.

“Alright,” she says, placing her arms around your neck.

“I love you,” you whisper as you slowly start to lean forward.

“Love you too, I’ll see you in two months,” she whispers back, leaning until your foreheads touch. You two lean closer until she grabs your face and claims your lips. As you two frantically kiss, Elsa feels her tears fall and your embrace tighten. When she pulls away, as you two try to catch your breath, you turn to the ship and notice that it’s ready.

“Bye,” you say, kissing her forehead before pulling away.

“See you in two months,” she says as you run to the ship.

Once you board the ship, you look back a her and the two of you just look at each other as the ship leaves Arendelle. Elsa watches as the ship gets smaller and smaller.

Feeling her chest tighten and panic start to rise, she decides to get some fresh air. Elsa gets up and heads to the balcony. Once out, Elsa notices that the moon is looking a little brighter tonight and smiles at the thought of you looking at it too. She exhales; feeling herself calm down, she closes her eyes and smiles.

“I’m back” a familiar voice says, causing her to open her eyes.

“W-what?” she says, surprised at the sound of your voice.

“I’m back,” you answer, walking up to her. Your body is aching and the effects of sleeping for only a few hours every day for a month, are catching up.

“You came back!” she exclaims, running up and wrapping her arms around you.

Falling in her warm embrace, you look at her face and her eyes start tear up. Gently placing a hand on her cheek, you look at her and lay your forehead on her’s.

“I will always come back to you,” you whisper to her before softly kissing her lips.
